After reading my friend CJ's blog, I was filled with memories of pink sponge curlers.
My poor luscious haired mom, she had a daughter with far from luscious locks.
She would spend so much time rolling those curlers to perfection, anxiously
anticipating the lovely curls the morning would bring.
I HATED those curlers. They pulled my hair, and made it impossible to sleep.
And now? Now, I have those same said curlers and put them in my girls hair.
The anticipation is always too much, and I inevitably take them out too soon, so Kennedy's hair is surely limp and slightly wavy.
Reagan's hair is much shorter, thinner, finer, so hers always set up just right.
I just don't have it in me to make them sleep with them over night.
Mostly because I'm quite sure they'd rip them out in seconds.
I'm a nice daughter. With mounds of annoyance, I dutifully kept them in.
Maybe I should give the girls a chance, and let them experience the full effect of those spongy curlers. Next time ....

A worthwhile investment are the non plastic curlers. My daughter totally slept with them in.
I am definitely doing curlers regularly. Perhaps Kennedy's hair would work better with rag curls. We used to do rag curls at girls camp and even people with the thickest straightest hair got beautiful curls if only for a few hours.
I am glad I inspired you!
OH MY HECK the curls are back and I hated them too!! But just look and see how cute they are!!!
Hey girlfriend...the hair nuts swear by curlformers. Thankfully Paige has naturally curly hair so I haven't bought any, but the after pictures and stuff are really darling.
Between you fine hair which wouldn't hold a curl and Ashley's WONDERFUL bangs that I would get soooo perfect with just a flip of the wrist only to have her go to school and wet them down flat, straight, boring. What's a mother to do. I remember sleeping with the pinky curlers when I was young, but then to add insult to injury, my mom did my bangs in pin curls (pin curls=temp perm)I was one curly girl. Well at least for as long as the curls held which was not quite as long as church lasted. Not much changes from one generation to the next but we mom's keep trying and dreaming of the perfect curls for our girls.
Emily just pointed out Lincoln in the background.I didn't even see him the first time I looked at these pictures. He is such a little monkey! I bet he is just loving those bunk beds--how nice of you to get him an indoor playground.
