proud

Sunday night after Kennedy's bath, Tyler pulled her jammies on a little too hard and Kennedy has been complaining that her arm hurts ever since. She was very upset all that night, and then wouldn't move her arm the rest of the next day. I tried making her "practice" and move it up and down VERY SLOWLY as to not cause too much drama, and she would do okay with that. By okay, I mean she was screaming the whole time but said it didn't hurt, but still screamed. Whatever. But she told me it was an accident and that her jammies are hard to get on after she's had a bath because she's a little bit wet and has lotion all over. So, at least she doesn't blame Tyler. She said one of the cutest things I've ever heard. "Jesus will make my arm feel better." I was talking to Tyler about it later, and he said they asked Jesus to make her arm feel better that night in her prayers. I said "it's like she really believes he'll make her better." and Tyler said "no, it's not LIKE she believes, she does believe." I was a proud mama.
The only thing she's ever said that was cuter? One day out of the blue "mama, did you wear a pretty dress and go the temple and get married and be a family?" I started crying. We weren't talking about that, or looking at pictures etc. She had learned (in primary, I'm sure) that when you grow up you get to wear a pretty dress and go the temple with your sweetheart and become a family. It was seriously one of the best moments of life. Hearing my kids learn things and really understand them warms my heart. Now she's added to her previous comment, and knows that after she's married she can be a mama and then she gets to give the babies baths. She only cares about the bath part. She gets upset when I won't let her help give Lincoln his baths. She's a crazy splasher...so for now it's good that she thinks she's not old enough until she gets married.

There is a lot going on in that pretty head of hers. She is so quite sometimes that I'd like to tap into her thoughts and see what is going on. Wouldn't it be nice if we could keep the sweet trust and complete faith that our children have? They have no doubts just comple trust. Give her a squeeze for Grammy.

I think that kids are just so amazing. I love it when they say things like that. Landon the other day was in time out and he was like, "Mommy, I am saying a prayer that I can be like Shadarack, Meshack, and Abendigo."(I don't know how to spell them) I was like, why are you praying about them? He said, "because they made good choices, and I need to make good choices like them." I thought it was so cute. It is amazing what they pick up on! Your little family is so cute!

That's awesome. What a sweetie! I think the only thing Livi has learned from me so far is, "Dammit!"
Whoops - is this a public post?

OK - just kidding. She actually says her prayers by herself now and it's totally heart-warming to hear her bless everything under the sun - but she does remember the bishop and the prophet. I agree w/you - these kids pick up on so much!
