Bike Riding Bliss

The rule at the Fowler house is "no riding in the house" (and that includes anything with wheels bikes, scooter, car etc.) We keep the bike and scooter in the laundry room next to the washing machine to avoid being stolen, and be out of the way so I don't get asked all day, every day to go ride bikes. I think I'm ready to veto the rule. When I'm doing laundry (our laundry room isn't gigantic) both Kennedy and Reagan will come in, shut the door and ride their bikes in the laundry room, as if it doesn't count as being part of the house or something. They literally can only move forward maybe 2 feet and then they have to get off and turn the bike around and ride another exciting, fun filled 2 feet until they hit the wall. Yet, they will do this over and over until I'm done doing laundry, switching off between the scooter and bike. While it was entertaining the first time, my shins are starting to hurt! Long story sorry, so last time I was doing laundry (which seems like everyday) I told them to go ride in the kitchen. Kennedy's eyes get huge and she says "OHHHHH, DAD IS GOING TO GET SO MAD!" Well, yes Kennedy, I am breaking a rule that I made....but just this once, it's okay, and we'll tell Dad it was just this once. Except now, it's every time I do laundry because that room isn't big enough for the insanity that my kids bring with them every where they go! Just look at their faces. Why is it they are so excited to ride their bikes in the kitchen? I think it's just because they're breaking the rules...and they know it.

Breaking rules?! What's next? Let's ask ourselves the all important question...are they being quiet? Well then what does a few bikes in the house matter?
