Big girl Reagan

Reagan turned one on Januray 3rd! She's such a big girl. I was out of town on her birthday, and as always, I forgot my camera. Mi madre y mi hermana took tons of pictures so I'll post them as soon as I can. She had lots of chocolate cake and got a fun animal train that she (and Kennedy) love. She went to the dr. on wednesday the 16th and here are her stats:
height - 29 inches - 50 %
weight - 21.9 pounds - 60 %
She is doing great, and right where she needs to be developmentally. She walked pretty early, and the dr. says she's pretty vocal...I chalk that up to having a big sister showing her the way.
Some of her babbles:
"dada" - all the time, she always wants her dada, and loves to run to him when he gets home. it's so cute.
"mama" - never on command, and only when she is really upset.
"this" or "that" - when she's pointing to something, or wants to show me her toy etc.
"ohhh" - when she sees something she likes, or something she thinks is pretty cool.
"ummmmm" - when she likes her food and wants more.
"ta da" - when she's proud of something she's done and wants to show off.

She has been walking for 2 months now, and has a pretty quick little run going on too. Even though she looks like she just got off a horse, her little tooshy is so cute when she runs. She is such a little joker. She will steal the remote control and run away laughing because she knows she's being naughty. She's been doing this little smirk lately where she crinkles up her nose and squints her eyes and does the funniest little laugh. She learned where her nose is, and loves to put her finger in there and just laughs. She loves to wear her shoes, and will bring them to me to help her put them on all day long. She likes to comb her hair, use a q-tip to clean her ears, and especially loves brushing her teeth...what good hygiene!
Foods she can't live withou: WAFFLES (plain, with no syrup of course...all day long!) peas, carrots and beans, pears, cheese (regular, cottage, string...you name it) sisters hot dogs, pasta, milk....okay the list could go on forever...this kids loves to eat.
Some of mommies favorite things to see: When she TALKS ON HER CELL PHONE. She puts it right up to her ear and babbles away. I always say thats my most favorite thing in the world. HER DANCE, she does this little booty shake and bends her knees up and down and waves her arms...so cute. But she's serious about it, she isn't laughing or trying to be funny...it must run in the family. Sweet moves that is. When she RUBS HER BELLY. She looks like an old man and rubs her big belly. I don't know if it makes her calm, or she's hoping for good luck, but she does it quite often. When she PUTS ON JEWELRY. She gets the same huge smile everyime, and waits for me to say "oh princess Reagan." How she ALWAYS WEARS SOCKS ON HER HANDS. So weird, but she'll leave them on all day, literally. She'll eat with them on, play, do everything she normally does, just with socks. She'll take them off her feet, or find some laying around and run to me to put them on her. Where do they learn these things? That she LOVES TO WEAR BINOCULARS. She puts them on herself and then never looks through them or even touches them, but she wants to wear them. She makes me laugh all day long, she definitely has a ton of character and loves to be the center of attention, and I especially love that she's a cuddle bug, she will let me snuggle with her any time I want, ahhh warm fuzzies.
A little note from mom : Happy birthday little Reagan, I can't believe you're already one! The past year has gone by so fast, and it has been such fun watching you grow and see all the new discoveries you've made. I love you so much and am very grateful to be your mommy. Your big sister Kennedy has certainly taken on her roll as the big sister, and is very protective of you. She helps me take care of you and always makes sure you stay safe. You're very much a daddy's girl and squeal da da, and run to him everytime he comes home from work/school. It's cute to watch the two of you interact. Thanks for making our little family, a not so little family. We're happy you came here to be with us, and love you more and more everyday.
