my monkey

This weekend we went to Idaho to visit the fam, and to put Tyler to work. My parents two HUGE pine trees in their back yard are dead, and needed to be cut down. Thank goodness my husband knows how to work like a "wetback" (says my mom.) He took one whole tree down, completely, dozens of branches from around the rest of the yard, and finnished taking the castle down.
My parents rented a dumpster from the city, and we filled it to the brim, and he didn't even get to start on the 2nd pine tree. We're so burned out, I can't imagine how Tyler must be feeling....all we did was haul branches to the dumpster.
Tyler climbed up the pine tree as far as he could (without dying) and then hacked about 6 feet off the top of the tree. Thank goodness he tied himself to the tree, and remembered to make the cut above where he was sitting. I didn't know I was married to a monkey.
I think that all in all Tyler loved using a chainsaw. Maybe even taking his aggression out on the tree every once in awhile too. He says tearing down the castle was a beast too. They have a two story castle fort (a.k.a spider heaven) in the backyard too.
I'm excited for what the backyard has in store, there's SOOOO much more room now, it's going to be great for my kiddies to run around when they visit grammy and grandpa. Thanks for the exhausting, but fun weekend ma and pa!...aside from EVERYONE getting sick from the flu...(thanks a lot Kennedy) it was GREAT!
p.s. seriously the trees are HUGE, I couldn't zoom out the camera far enough, or scoot back enough to get the whole thing, but I think you get the picture!
